Impaqt Robotics is at the forefront of industrial automation, developing intelligent robotic systems and modular automation solutions for manufacturing and logistics. Our mission is to simplify robotic deployment through robust software, smart hardware design, and production-ready systems. As we expand our robotics platform, we are building core capabilities in motion planning, manipulation, and intelligent automation.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Production Manager to lead shop-floor operations and production planning and control (PPC). You will manage two assembly technicians and one QC inspector, taking ownership of production planning, assembly, quality control and shipment readiness.

You will translate customer orders into achievable build plans, coordinate material availability, maintain a safe and organised production floor, and ensure finished systems are tested and ready for dispatch. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, procurement and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team leadership: Lead, schedule and develop two assembly technicians and one QC inspector. Set daily priorities, train the team on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and review performance.

  • Production planning: Develop and execute weekly production and service plans. Track capacity, material availability and delivery commitments.

  • Shop-floor management: Manage production layout, 5S, housekeeping, tools, materials and safety compliance. Conduct regular audits to maintain shop-floor discipline.

  • Engineering-to-production handover: Interpret engineering bills of materials (BOMs) and CAD assemblies, validate BOM completeness and buildability, upload BOMs into Odoo ERP, and translate engineering requirements into clear SOPs and work instructions.

  • Assembly and testing: Own assembly from kitting through final testing. Work with engineering to develop and maintain jigs and fixtures, and ensure their consistent use to achieve repeatable, right-first-time assembly.

  • Quality control: Own incoming, semi-finished and finished-goods quality control, including inspection standards, checklists and acceptance criteria.

  • Vendor development and coordination: Support purchasing in assessing new vendors’ technical capabilities and approving samples and first articles. Follow up on component delivery and quality.

  • Shipment readiness: Coordinate with logistics to ensure finished systems are ready for shipment in line with agreed delivery dates.

  • Process documentation: Develop and maintain SOPs for production planning, assembly, inspection and dispatch.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • B.E., B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Production or Industrial Engineering.

  • 6–10 years of shop-floor experience in production or PPC with a machine builder, special-purpose machine (SPM) manufacturer or automation company.

  • At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience managing technicians or inspectors.

  • Strong manufacturing fundamentals, including machining processes, fits and tolerances, assembly practices and engineering drawing interpretation.

  • Ability to interpret engineering BOMs and CAD assemblies and translate them into practical build instructions.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing 5S and maintaining shop-floor discipline, developing or qualifying vendors, and building or specifying assembly fixtures.

  • Hands-on ERP experience covering BOMs, manufacturing orders, purchasing and inventory. Odoo experience is preferred; experience with SAP, Tally Prime or a comparable system is also suitable.

  • Exposure to robotics, pneumatics or packaging automation is preferred.

  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing, CNC machining or metal fabrication is an advantage.

Why Join Us?
  • End-to-end ownership: Take responsibility for the complete production cycle, from BOM validation and material planning to assembly, testing and shipment readiness.

  • Build automation products for global markets: Contribute to cobot-based products sold through distributors and system integrators in more than 38 countries.

  • Shape how we manufacture: Develop practical SOPs, quality standards and assembly fixtures that improve consistency and make the production floor more effective.

  • Lead a hands-on team: Develop a focused team of technicians and a QC inspector, with a direct impact on build quality and delivery performance.

  • Work across disciplines: Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement and logistics, combining shop-floor problem-solving with production planning and ERP execution.

  • Work on production-grade robotics software deployed in real industrial environmentsOwn a core robotics capability rather than a narrow featureGain hands-on exposure to hardware, assembly, and customer deploymentsGrow into a senior robotics or platform engineering role as the product portfolio expandsCollaborate with a fast-moving team building scalable automation systems

We welcome applications from motivated candidates with strong fundamentals and a passion for robotics, even if they do not meet every qualification listed.
